Just returned from a slow-paced but highly entertaining movie, "Master Gardener."
Joel Edgerton plays a horticulturalist with a colorful garden and an even more colorful past, and Sigourney Weaver is the wealthy dowager who employs him to keep her bushes trimmed and happy. (In more ways than one)
Even with some slow spots, we couldn't contain our enthusiasm because the mansion looked so familiar to us and when the lights came on, the cell phones came out and we got our confirmation:
Turns out the plantation looked familiar because we were just THERE in March, touring the beautiful grounds of Rosedown, in St. Francisville, Louisiana.
We left the theater in search of a porch with a swing and someone to serve us cold lemonade with mint julep: alas, it's not the season for that in Red Bank, New Jersey.
So nice to find a movie that you didn't expect to like..but you wind up liking it..a lot...
