Turns out I’m not “Smarter Than a fifth Grader”
Because fifth graders apparently know that the first president born in a hospital was Jimmy Carter, and the first president born in Hell is Trump.
Okay.. I made that last part up.. or did ?? I??
But I have a sinking feeling we’re not getting what we want this weekend, and what we want is a medal.
Would a fifth grader be able to solve the WOF bonus puzzle like “ snickerdoodle “ with just the N??
Huh??
Would they??
Okay, so maybe they know the punctuation in “ The Lion, the Witch, and the Warlock” is called an “Oxford comma” but were THEY smart enough to vote for Kamala Harris in 2024??
Were they??
We’re bombing at games so far, but that’s because Evan and Michelle have been unavailable, and two aging Boomers like us shouldn’t be signing up for games that require participants to wonder how to use a rotary phone.
We had the cleverest name for our movie game team of two. We were instructed to label our dry/erase board with a cinema related theme, and my witty husband perfectly combined this year’s Oscar race with Woodloch’s most famous dessert as he called our team, “ One Crumb Cake After Another.”
We had the lowest score in the game’s history, but had the most awesome name.
Seriously, could YOU list ten films of Ben Affleck in chronological order from a ten second clip??
We actually saw the first one, “Dazed and Confused” but still didn’t know the all right all right all right answer.
We missed easy stuff like “Gone Girl” and “The Accountant “ so the loss was meant to be.
We bombed the movie music category too, but Michelle would have aced all the Disney songs.
I got us two points by recognizing famous songs from “Chicago” and “The Greatest Showman” so the winning team should have been forced to hand their winnings over to me, because I also stopped and/ or prevented eight wars.
Redeemed ourselves a tad in the last part by knowing clips from “Miss Congeniality” and “Love Story” but if we’re going to continue showing up for games like this, we’re going to need a bigger brain.
Can’t wait to see how I screw up “Bakery Wars” this afternoon, but I’m counting on my daughter in law to knock it out of the park.
